Woodstock RCMP is investigating a crash involving a school bus Wednesday afternoon in Carleton County.

According to Corporal Loyd Harquail, the bus was driving north on Route 550 in Bloomfield shortly after 2 p.m. when it left the road and struck a utility pole. There were no students on the school bus at the time.

The utility pole snapped and the bus ended up on its side with significant damage.The bus driver was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Bloomfield is halfway between Woodstock and Centreville, New Brunswick.
