Why did the salmon cross the road?  A river that spilled its banks in Washington State, forced a run of migrating salmon to take a detour.   This video clip shot near Union, about 40 miles southwest of Seattle, shows one salmon didn't make it to its happy spawning grounds.  The unlucky fish was intercepted by a dog that trotted away with its prize catch.

The Skokomish River in Washington frequently floods after heavy rain in the Olympic Mountains.  Some have suggested road signs that say "Caution:Salmon Crossing."
