Gas prices in New England continue to fall.

They may not have dropped as much as the temperatures did on Sunday night/Monday morning this week, but prices at the pump in our region still continue their downward trend.

According to GasBuddy.com's latest survey, the price of gas here in Maine fell 1,8 cents to an average $2.23 a gallon. Prices in Presque Isle at most stations Monday morning were at $2.39 a gallon.

Gasoline prices in neighboring New Hampshire declined 2.6 cents a gallon to an average of $2.31. Vermont had the biggest decrease, falling 3.8 cents a gallon to $2,43 a gallon

However, the national average went up slightly, increasing a half cent in the last week, to $2.24 a gallon. That's 14.1 cents a gallon cheaper than a month ago and is 28.4 cents a gallon less than one year ago.
