Presque Isle’s downtown will be bustling tonight during the First Friday Art Walk for the month of May.  You'll have a dozen artistic and musical choices. Feel free to bounce from place to place or just settle in one spot and enjoy. Scroll down for all your options for free entertainment this evening. Catholic Charities at 11 Davis Street will showcase the musical talents of ‘Hoss and Lurleen.’ They are an acoustic duo specializing in classic rock and country music. They’ll be performing from 6 until 8 p.m.

Hand Me Down Antiques at 477 Main Street takes you back through time with a Victorian Era inspired LIVE window display. They’ve got a little bit of everything, and a whole lot of history. You’re sure to find something you can’t be without.

KMH Music at 412 Main Street is hosting ‘Mister Moon,’ a group of three talented vocalists and musicians from Waldo County, Maine. Richie Keyes and sisters, Hallee and Kati Pottle have claimed the genre title "Foograss" to describe their unique sound.  Join them at 7pm for a FREE show.  Don’t forget to tip the artists bring something to sit on!

Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Library at 39 Second Street will be open from 6-8 pm, showcasing a display on the Presque Isle Rotary Club’s 90th anniversary. The display features artifacts and memorabilia spanning the club’s history and includes an interactive exhibit.

Merchants on the Corner (394 Main Street) is hosting a free wine tasting for First Friday Art Walk.  Stop by between 6 and 8 p.m. to taste the exquisite wine and answer the night’s themed question, ‘Does price really matter?’

Morning Star Art & Framing (422 Main Street) will feature the works of numerous local artists. Peter Parker and the Crew will be providing musical entertainment.  Extended hours are from 6 to 9 p.m.

Oasis Salon at 422 Main Street will feature up-and-coming hair stylist Heather Murphy. Her inventive Avant Garde hairstyles will be on display from 6 until 8 p.m.

The University of Maine at Presque Isle's Reed Fine Art Gallery will host the works of Anderson Giles: painter, photographer, gallery director and filmmaker.  A gallery reception will be held from 5 to 7 pm, with a talk with the artist beginning at 5:30 p.m. 'Revelations’ is a survey exhibition that presents selected works representing Giles' expansive career as a painter.

StarCity Coffee  (483 Main Street) will feature the musical talents of Travis Cyr.  Arts Aroostook describes Travis as a ‘Cosmic-Acoustic-Americana-Folk-Rock-Spaz-Grass-Psychobilly-String-Breaking-Song-Writing Enthusiast.’  Music starts at 7 p.m. but stop in anytime for some amazing coffee, wonderful food and an artsy and relaxing atmosphere.

Swanson Law at 404 Main Street will be featuring Bridget Hughes ‘Body Prints’ beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Bridget is a 24-year-old artist from South Africa. The creation of body prints came to her while on a personal journey of self-acceptance.

The Whole Potato Café & Commons (428 Main Street) is serving up a whole lot of talent. Their featured artist, Trisha Morey is a Native American who has traveled the country on foot and now lives on the Maine Coast.  She does portraiture and fine art. Join her at her “Spectrum of Art," exhibit.

Wintergreen Arts Center (149 State Street) has once again teamed up with the UMPI Reed Gallery to bring you the 12x12 Silent Auction to support the upcoming Northern Maine Cultural Center. The night kicks off at 6pm at with over 60 works of art available. Bidding ends promptly at 8:30. Musical backdrop by Mark & Jordyn Shaw with Brien Sandstrom on the 5-string bass. Light refreshments will be served and the event is free!
