This week, the city of Bangor announced that it would rename Columbus Day, and celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day in its place.

We asked you to weigh in on this change, and let us know if you favored changing the commemoration across the entire state. In this online poll, each IP address was able to vote once.

As of 11pm on August 31st, we counted a total of 568 votes, 248 respondents, or 43%, said no. 288 respondents, or 50%, said yes. About 6% weren't sure.

While this wasn't a scientific poll, do you think it accurately reflects the results of the Maine population? Let us know in the comments.
