A manhunt was underway Friday morning after State Police said four people were shot in three communities in southern Aroostook and northern Penobscot Counties overnight.  

The shootings took place in the towns of Benedicta, Silver Ridge, and Lee according to Public Safety Department Spokesman Steve McCausland. Police are attempting to locate the gunman and the search Friday morning was concentrated in the Lee area, McCausland said.    THE LATEST DETAILS: Suspect arrested,Victims Identified

Roadblocks have been set up leading in and out of the town, and armed officers are on the scene. State Police have set up a command post at Lee Academy to coordinate the efforts.

Lincoln Public Safety says Route 6 into Lee will remain closed until the suspect is apprehended. The town of Lee, with a population of about 900, is located just east of Lincoln.

The names and conditions of the shooting victims have not yet been released.
