The Chainsmokers went from what might have been considered a one-hit novelty dance act ("#Selfie") to a chart-dominating, Grammy Award-nominated force in a matter of years.

Will "Paris" continue their radio reign?

After notching two Top 10 hits in 2015, "Roses (feat. Rozes)" and "Don't Let Me Down (feat. Daya)," followed by their longest-running, entirely inescapable hit of 2016, "Closer (feat. Halsey)," the duo returns with "Paris," featuring vocals from the group's own Drew Taggart.

Like "Closer," the track centers around an us-against-the-world kind of modern romance.

"We were staying in Paris / To get away from your parents / You look so proud standing there with a frown and a cigarette / Posting pictures of yourself on the internet," Drew sings.

Prepare to see plenty of these lyrics plucked for Facebook statues and Instagram captions in the coming weeks: "We'll get away with everything / Let's show them we are better." (The female voice is, as previously suspected to be, French singer Louane.)

The group's evidently moved away from their more "trop-pop"-infused sound, settling into pleasant piano melodies and guitar riffs, making for a soundscape that's sort of like a calmer, serious-faced sequel to Calvin Harris' "Summer," eventually building into something sweeping and cinematic.

Will this keep The Chainsmokers going strong in 2017? Listen to "Paris" above.
