A fire that caused nearly $200,000 in damage at a lumber yard in Portland is considered suspicious, said officials.

Crews battled a massive fire early Thursday at a lumber yard in Portland. WGME reports the blaze broke out around 11:30 Wednesday night at Eldredge Lumber on Presumpscot Street.

The fire caused significant damage to a rear section of the yard and destroyed a storage barn.

Investigators from the Maine Fire Marshal's Office were looking through the debris for evidence. They also reviewed surveillance video. Damage includes $130,000 for the lost lumber
