Funko Pop! Releases Two New Notorious B.I.G. Figures
Adding to their growing line of hip-hop and R&B stars, Funko has put out two new Notorious B.I.G. figures as part of their popular Pop! line. This now makes four Biggie representations that they've released so far.
The first features the man born Christopher Wallace with his famous gold crown perched on his head to one side and a cane in his right hand. He's wearing a bandana, sunglasses and a yellow-and-blue jersey that says "Biggie," and holding a microphone in the other. In both, he's wearing a chain with blue jeans and boots.
Funko Pop!'s other available Notorious B.I.G. figure portrays him decked out in a cream-colored suit, wide-brimmed hat and cane. They also made a limited-edition metallic version that, as of press time, collectors estimate is currently worth $2,600.
Funko debuted Pop! in 1998 to sell officially licensed figurines of pop culture stars in some of their most iconic looks, including athletes, movie and television characters (real and animated), superheroes and video games characters. In addition to the four Notorious B.I.G.s, they have made replicas of Tupac Shakur, Public Enemy, Run-D.M.C., Michael Jackson. Earlier this month, they unveiled three versions of Prince -- from the Purple Rain, Around the World in a Day and 3rdeyegirl eras -- and one of Mariah Carey in her Santa Claus suit from her 1994 Merry Christmas album.
