Workers across Maine had better make sure their safety gear is up to standards, as a new study finds that the state is the most dangerous place to work in the United States.

According to Allsup, a national Social Security insurance provider, 7.1 out of 100 workers in the nursing and residential care industry are involved in accidents that result in injury each year. Yikes! That’s a lot of people getting hurt that are supposed to be taking care of others.

Incidentally, if you are concerned about your well being in the Maine workplace, perhaps you may want to consider a move to New York. The state has the second lowest rate of injury in the country, where as places like Indiana and California are just as hazardous as Maine.
