“At MMG, we share the same strong sense of community that this project is founded on,” says Larry Shaw, President and CEO of MMG Insurance. “Ensuring that our area continues to thrive is essential. As we look to the future, it’s vital that we attract and retain the talent and the people who will shape and lead our community, and one way to do that is to invest in the community.”

The Presque Isle Community Center Project Committee is working to raise 3.5 million dollars in order to make the community center a reality. The city of Presque Isle has a matching contribution for the construction of a $9 million dollar facility.

The new community center would replace the crumbling William Haskell Recreation Center and reside next to Riverside Park just behind the Court House in Presque Isle and offer to the public such amenities as an indoor track, toddler, teen and senior centers, meeting areas, and an outdoor pool and splash pad.

Steve Richard, Co-chair of the PICC Campaign Committee says “We are truly excited and grateful to receive both this significant donation as well as the support of MMG, a local company who shares our strong sense of community and vision for the future of this area. MMG understands the benefits a new Community Center will bring to this area and this investment speaks directly to the campaign’s motto of “Commit to Community, Believe in Presque Isle.”
