
Man Charged with Shooting & Injuring Stepbrother in Maine
A 41-year-old man was arrested Tuesday and charged with Elevated Aggravated Assault after shooting his 30-year-old stepbrother in South Portland.
Man Charged with Shooting Stepbrother
The South Portland Police Department said John Williams shot his stepbrother in his lower leg around 4 pm at 616 Westbrook Street.
Shot in the Leg and Seriously Injured
Officers applied a tourniquet to the gunshot wound. The victim was seriously injured and taken to Maine Medical Center.
Charged with Assault and Reckless Conduct
Williams was charged with Elevated Aggravated Assault, Reckless Conduct and Assault. He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
Isolated Incident and No Threat to Public
Police said this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing.
