Troop 'F' of the Maine State Police based in Houlton, responded to 123 calls for service in the past week. Here are the incidents posted in their weekly log:

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 10/30/2016 Town: CASTLE HILL Trooper: Tr. Pescitelli Brief Synopsis: Tr. Pescitelli and Dep. Reid Clark went to an address to search for a subject whom had a warrant for his arrest. Upon pulling into the driveway Tr. Pescitelli noticed people inside the residence moving quickly away from the front door. Tr. Pescitelli and Dep. Clark moved toward the back of the residence and found two people standing next to the back door. When asked why they ran out the back they said they didn’t know. Three more people came out of the house and Tr. Pescitelli identified all the people on scene. When one male gave his name, Tr. Pescitelli recognized him as having a warrant. Tr. Pescitelli told the man about his warrant and that he wasn’t free to leave. The man fled on foot behind the house where he was pursued by Tr. Pescitelli and Deputy Clark. The man was caught after a very brief foot chase and arrested for the warrant as well as charged with escape. One of the other subjects inside the house was also discovered to have warrants and was arrested as well.

Incident Type: Assist other agency. Date: 10/31/2016 Town: Frenchville Trooper: Tr. Curtin Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin assisted the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office with a complaint in Frenchville. The sheriff’s office has been dealing with a long-standing dispute over ownership of a road in Frenchville between the town and a local citizen. On this day, the dispute escalated when the citizen feuding with the town dug up the roadway with some farm equipment and then struck someone in the head with a pipe as they were attempting to drive through the section of dispute roadway. Tr. Curtin arrested the subject and held him in custody until Deputies were able to arrive and handle the complaint. The subject was ultimately charged with Aggravated Criminal Mischief and Aggravated Assault. Damage to the roadway was in excess of $50,000.

Incident Type: HARASSMENT Date: 11/01/2016 Town: ALLAGASH Trooper: Tr. Luce Brief Synopsis: Tr. Luce investigated a report of harassment between two neighbors in Allagash. This has been a long, on-going issue between the two men that has resulted in several arrests and protection orders being issued. One of the men claimed his neighbor had been harassing him by shining a spot light into his windows. Tr. Luce went to the other man’s residence and learned that the man was using a long lamp with an incandescent bulb while working on a fence between the properties. Tr. Luce closed this as unfounded.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 11/02/2016 Town: Forkstown Trooper: Cpl. Quint Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint stopped a vehicle for expired inspection and defective exhaust in Forkstown and found the female operator had a suspended driver’s license for medical reasons. The 54-year-old Houlton woman signed the summons and arranged to have a family member come get her vehicle.

Incident Type: BURGLARY Date: 11/03/2016 Town: Westfield Trooper: Tr. Stoutamyer Brief Synopsis: A 50-year-old male reported that his residence in the town of Westfield had been burglarized and the only thing disturbed/taken was his prescribed medical marijuana. He estimates that he had about 3 ounces of marijuana taken valued at about $600-$700. Investigation is ongoing.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 11/04/2016 Town: Hodgdon/Bridgewater Trooper: Tr. Sylvia Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sylvia cited 3 drivers for criminal speed, two of them teens. One of the drivers was cited for driving 59 MPH in 25 MPH zone. He was also cited for operating without a license. The second driver was a 16 year old male and was cited for 81 in 50. His parents were also notified of the summons issued. Tr. Sylvia charged a third driver after pulling him over for driving 88 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. The 17-year-old’s mother was contacted.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 11/04/2016 Town: Sherman Trooper: Tr. Sucy Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sucy stopped a 21-year-old woman from Westfield for speeding on Interstate 95. Tr. Sucy conducted a computer query on the woman’s driver’s license and learned that it was suspended due to a medical condition. Tr. Sucy issued the woman a criminal summons for the violation and gave her a ride to a gas station in Sherman where she waited for someone to come get her and the vehicle.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 11/05/2016 Town: Blaine Trooper: Cpl. Quint Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint issued a 17-year-old male a criminal summons for Criminal Speeding. The youth stated he was hurrying to get home because he was past his curfew. The teen was driving 95 mph in a posted 55 mph zone and had previously received a summons for speeding. The teen’s mother was also contacted regarding the violation.

Incident Type: ASSAULT Date: 11/05/2016 Town: Bridgewater Trooper: Tr. Sylvia Brief Synopsis: Troopers Sylvia and Casavant responded to a Bridgewater residence for an altercation between a local man and his father-in-law. A female had called her father when her husband had become out of control and appeared to be under the influence of drugs. The father arrived at the residence and was ultimately assaulted by his son in law. The son in law was arrested and taken to jail.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
