Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 94 calls for service in and around Aroostook County this past week. Here are the incidents included in their weekly report:

Incident Type: PASSING STOPPED SCHOOL BUS Date: 2/07/2019 Town: MARS HILL Trooper: SGT. CLARK Brief Synopsis: Sgt. Clark investigated the report from the school superintendent’s office of a vehicle passing a stopped school bus with its red lights flashing in Mars Hill. Sgt. Clark located the bus driver and after speaking with him located the male driver of the suspect vehicle. The man told Sgt. Clark that he did stop for the school bus but may have started driving past the bus while the lights were still activated. Sgt. Clark issued the man a criminal summons for passing a stopped school bus with its red lights activated.

Incident Type: WELL-BEING CHECK Date: 2/08/2019 Town: NEW SWEDEN Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Trooper Desrosier investigated a complaint of a man being trapped in his house for over three weeks. The trapped man had called a local radio station stating he was trapped; the radio station called the State Police asking someone to check on the man. When Tr. Desrosier arrived at his residence, it was obvious there had been no vehicle or foot traffic in or out of the residence. Tr. Desrosier was trying to get to the residence but was up to his waist in snow. Tr. Desrosier requested assistance from the Maine Warden Service with snow shoes to get to the house; Warden Ed Christie responded. The two were able to snowshoe into the residence and contacted the home owner. The man said he was low on food and had been melting snow for water. Tr. Desrosier and Warden Christie helped get the man out of his home and arranged to have a friend come take him for groceries. The man was not injured or sick and was grateful for the assistance.

Incident Type: ASSIST ANOTHER AGENCY Date: 2/08/2019 Town: MAPLETON Trooper: TR. LEVESQUE Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque assisted Ashland PD with recovering a stolen utility trailer. Ashland PD had been investigating the trailer theft and received information it was in Mapleton. Tr. Levesque responded to the address and confirmed with was the correct trailer. The owner was there and could retrieve his property.

Incident Type: WARRANT ARREST Date: 2/09/2019 Town: PATTEN Trooper: TR. ADAMS Brief Synopsis: Tr. Adams was patrolling in Patten when he saw a male walking on the side of the road. Tr. Adams recognized the male and knew that there were 2 active arrest warrants for him. The male started running when Tr. Adams pulled up to him. After a brief chase, the male gave up and Tr. Adams arrested him and transported him to ACJ.

Incident Type: WARRANT ARREST/ OAS Date: 2/08/2019 Town: HOULTON Trooper: TR. ADAMS Brief Synopsis: Tr Adams responded to Houlton customs office for a female with an active warrant and under suspension. Tr Adams arrived and arrested the female on the warrant and summonsed her for OAS.

Incident Type: WARRANT ARREST Date: 2/09/2019 Town: PATTEN Trooper: TR. ADAMS Brief Synopsis: Tr. Adams saw a male walking that he recognized and was aware the male had an active arrest warrant. Tr. Adams saw the male walk into a house and Tr. Adams went to the house and arrested the male on the warrant.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 2/09/2019 Town: SHERMAN Trooper: TR. SAUCIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier stopped a Benedicta man for several motor vehicle violations. His investigation revealed that the man was operating under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested without incident and taken to jail. The man also had children with him and they were taken from the scene by relatives.
