Maine Receives $35 Million in Federal Money to Fund Heating Assistance Program
The state government received $35 million in federal funds to help assist low income families who can’t pay their heating bill this winter season.

Sen. Olympia Snowe said the money will help Mainers and their families who are struggling to pay for heat. Last year, Maine received $38 million in federal aid to assist the state with the same issue.
‘[The Money is] invaluable for our state’s most vulnerable families who will struggle to pay heating bills,’ Snowe said.
