Maine – One Of The Best States For Women’s Equality
August 26, marks Women's Equality Day and the United States ranks 45 out of 144 countries on the Global Gender Gap Index. Maine ranks pretty high on this.
Our friends at WalletHub.com have tried to determine where women receive the most equal treatment in our country's society. Their study crosses 15 different matrices ranging from the gap between male and female executives to unemployment rates for men and women.
The matrices they used covered workplace environment, education, health, and political empowerment, each rendering 33.3-percentage points per state.
Maine actually ranked 6th out of 50 states and Washington D.C. Here's how it all panned out.
The state that had the smallest income gap between the two genders was Hawaii. The state with the largest income gap between the genders was Wyoming.
