The State Police Computer Crimes Unit has charged a Litchfield man with possessing child pornography. Charged Friday afternoon was 29-year-old Ethan Francine of 67 Whippoorwill Rd. in Litchfield.

On Thursday, his computers were seized from his home. Investigators say the hard drives contained sexually explicit material of children under the age of 12.

Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety, says Francine was charged with possession.

His $2,000 bail conditions stipulate that he not possess any digital media devices that access the internet and have no contact with children under 16.

Francine was given a court date of May 16.

He was employed by the Bath YMCA as a lifeguard at their pool at Brunswick Landing. Executive director Sabrina Murphy says the part-time employee has been suspended indefinitely.
