Today marks the first day of enrollment on the exchange, or marketplace, a key component of President Barack Obama’s Affordable Health Care Act. Residents can view the various plans and see what tax credits they qualify for on the marketplace.

Individuals making between 100 percent and 400 percent of the federal poverty level will qualify for tax credits, or upfront discounts.

As many as 250,000 Maine residents could use the exchange, including about 130,000 uninsured, but fewer likely will as many choose plans off the exchange or remain uninsured. (AP)
