Maine Deer Harvest Sets New High Since 2002
Deer hunter's in Maine won't be going without their venison meals for a while, as their harvest helped to accumulate this biggest yield since 2002.
The Fiddlehead Focus reports that 32,438 deer were harvested this year, that according to the state's online big game registration system.
This was the first time the system was used throughout the entire state of Maine during the previous deer season.
There were 38,153 deer harvested in 2002, according to state records.
In 2009, deer hunters saw a low of 18,092 deer harvested.
