Sky Arts has debuted the first trailer for Urban Myths, the upcoming comedy starring Joseph Fiennes as Michael Jackson.

If you were one of the people who took to social media to protest your outrage that a white man was cast to play a black, Michael Jackson, you can rest assured that after watching the trailer you will be back on Twitter retweeting yourself.

Urban Myths will debut January 19 in the UK, and there are eight episodes that center around the tall tales of celebrities. The late Michael Jackson's story is centered around a post 9/11 trip taken by himself, Elizabeth Taylor, and Marlon Brando. In the trailer, Fiennes is made to look like a very exaggerated version of Michael Jackson. Compared to the rest of the cast, he looks more like a muppet than a real person.

The satire will also feature stories about Muhammad Ali, Bob Dylan, and Samuel Beckett. Director Ben Palmer has been accused of "whitewashing." Last year, he was mentioned among other directors on social media during the Oscars using the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite for lack of diversity and inclusion in films.

Palmer stands firm that Fiennes was cast to play Michael Jackson based on his talent. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Palmer stated that Jackson was closer to his color than his original color. He went on to say that it's a comedy and there was no malicious intent behind the decision to cast a white actor as a black man.
