Has John Travolta Finally Sold His Massive Mansion in Maine?
The Saturday Night Fever star has been trying to sell his property in our Pine Tree State for several years now.

Maine is called 'Vacationland' for a reason—it’s a fantastic place to visit and, if we’re being biased, an even better place to live. It’s also an ideal spot for folks 'from away' to establish their vacation homes, which is why so many celebrities have chosen to settle here over the years.
First, to make sure we're all on the same page, what's the deal with John Travolta's mansion in Maine? Where in ‘Vacationland’ is it located?
Travolta's mansion in Islesboro is a 10,830-square-foot home featuring 20 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms. Located at 299 Drexel Lane and built in 1904, this enormous property has a total of 30 rooms.
Alright, now that we've covered that, what are the updates on John Travolta’s massive—and we do mean MASSIVE—mansion in Islesboro?
According to Architectural Digest, John Travolta and his late wife, Kelly Preston, transformed their home purchased in 1991 into a bright, welcoming space for their growing family. Following Preston's passing in 2020, Travolta listed the house in 2021 for $5 million, later reducing the price to $4.25 million before removing the listing.
The property was relisted in 2022 for $5 million but was taken off the market again in early 2023.
Since then, the home has remained off the market, with no updates on its future. As for what that means for the house, the land, and—most importantly to the U.S. Government—the taxes, we’re not sure!
So, there you have it! John Travolta’s property in Islesboro, which he’s been trying to sell for years, is currently off the market.
It seems the Grease star has either decided to keep the property or proceed with a private sale. Either way, we’ll keep you posted! We’d love to hear from you—feel free to join the conversation by messaging us on the app.
