1-Year-Old’s Birthday Party on New Hampshire Seacoast Sparks Haters
"Hey Mom and Dad, where's the best place on the New Hampshire Seacoast to have a birthday party for my one-year-old baby?"
It's a simple question, and the answers should have been simple too. However, there's always one snarky answer in the comments of a Facebook post. Ok, maybe more than one, which creates negativity that is best placed elsewhere.
Perhaps the mother doesn't have space in her house to host a family party? Maybe the parents are so delighted with the first year of the life of their child, that they want to celebrate with friends and family in a joyful way. Perhaps a one-year-old birthday party is a conduit to a family gathering, which might not happen otherwise.
There are so many reasons to have a gathering for a one-year-old, like a gathering for the Super Bowl, a religious celebration, or a 99th birthday party. Some people will remember it, others will not. Photos and videos tell a great story though.
So for the people who hated on this mother asking a simple question, responding with answers like "Why does a 1 year old need a birthday party. Put the money in a college fund", hear this.
The reason you give a one-year-old a birthday party is for the sheer joy on their face when they realize they are special. In that very moment, they understand the party is for them, and all the people in the room are celebrating them. It's significant for the baby, the parents, and all the special people in the life of the child.
Here's the post. You decide, but from the looks of it, most people have great ideas for a family party, no matter what age they're celebrating.
