What New Englanders Need to Know About New ‘Jugging’ Crime Trend
It seems that every time you turn around, there is another way for criminals to try and get your money. This time, it could turn deadly. The crime is called "jugging."
According to fbi.gov, 'jugging' refers to a crime that targets people who may have a big amount of cash on them. The bad guys will commit the crime when you are trying to get money out of an ATM or in the parking lot of your bank or credit union, then follow you to your next destination.

Although there has been a lot of these crimes popping up in Baltimore, Maryland, we should be vigilant of these types of crimes here in New England and everywhere else on the East Coast.
Here's what you need to be aware of:
- Look around when you are making a deposit or withdrawing money from an ATM.
- While going to the actual brick and mortar bank, look around to see if there is anyone in the parking lot sitting in their car. They could be waiting for their next victim. If you do see someone like that, don't get out of your car.
- Report anything you do see. It could not only save someone's money, but also their life, depending on what the robbers are carrying.
- Don't flash your cash. If you took out a bunch of money, put it away on your person immediately. Don't count it on the way out or hold it in your hand to count in the car. Put it away. Someone could be watching you.
I don't like to live my life in a paranoid state, because I (and maybe you, too), am a really happy person who always assumes everyone is like me. Not the case, my sunshine friend. Watch your back. The bad guys are out there.
Have you ever had anything like this happen to you?
