Here in Northern Maine we have an abundance of trees, and many Christmas tree farms also. There are places to cut your own tree, just go buy the one you want, or maybe you have an artificial one?

I have always had a real tree in my home. There is just something magical and festive about the smell of a real tree. As a child, I would go with my family and pick out a tree from my great uncle’s tree farm. We’d cut it down, load it on the back of the truck and away we’d go. It was definitely a family tradition.

As an adult, I still love having a real tree. Granted, we don’t put it up as early as we could if we went with an artificial tree. There is just something I love about having that imperfect, real tree. I love that we have to spin it around until we find the perfect spot while hiding that bare spot against the wall.

I know that I’m probably in the minority here, but I love a real Christmas tree.
