The hunting seasons for deer, moose and bear all end on Saturday. Bear season is already in its slowest period, as most bear hunting happens over bait, and the baiting season ended in September.

The late November moose hunt is limited to five wildlife management districts in southern central and coastal Maine.

The firearm season for deer is followed by a season in which it is legal to hunt deer with muzzleloaders. That season will begin Nov. 28 and run until Dec. 10.

There's also a limited archery season for deer that runs through Dec. 10. That season is limited to a handful of areas with high deer population.
