Fire crews are on the scene of a structure fire in Houlton this morning.

According to Houlton Fire Chief Milton Cone, crews with the Houlton Fire Department responded to the scene of a structure fire at 52 River Street at approximately 4 a.m.

Residents of the rented home reported they had gloves and hats drying near the pellet stove, which caught fire and spread throughout the house.

The home is owned by Andrew and Melissa Marshal. They are currently residing in Virginia. The home was being rented by Jocelyn Howe, her brother and 2 children.

The home sustained heavy damage. Crews are still on scene at this hour.

No injuries were reported as everyone made it out of the house safely.
