
Man Charged after Child Died & Two Injured in Hit & Run in Maine
A 44-year-old man was arrested and charged after a child died in a hit and run and two other people were seriously injured in Albion.
Two Children and Woman Hit by Vehicle
The Maine State Police said two children and a 33-year-old woman were hit by a vehicle on Hussey Road around 5:12 pm Friday.
Child Died at the Scene and Two People Flown to Hospital
One child was pronounced dead at the scene. The other child and woman, Mollie Egold, were seriously injured and flown by LifeFlight to the hospital.
Man Arrested and Charged
Benjamin Lancaster was identified as the driver. He was taken into custody and transported to the Kennebec County Jail.
Multiple Charges
He was charged with Operating Under the Influence Causing Death, two counts of Operating Under the Influence Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Leaving the Scene of an Accident Causing Death and two counts of Leaving the Scene of an Accident Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
