Heavy Rain in the Forecast for Northern Maine & Western New Brunswick
Brace yourself, it's going to be a wet few days in Aroostook County and Western New Brunswick.
The National Weather Service and Environment Canada are calling for rain and lots of it over the next 24 hours. Rain is expected to be heaviest from Houlton/Woodstock south. Predictions in range from 2 to 5 inches worth and it will be heavy, at times.
Claude Cote of Environment Canada says the system should usher in more Fall-like conditions than we've been used to over the past month. With so much rain to come down, there is potential for flooding. As a matter of fact, a flood warning is in effect for many areas currently.
Homeowners are advised to take steps to protect their properties from damage. That includes making sure storm drains are cleared of leaves and debris.
