Heating Prices Continue to Fall as Holidays Approach
The average statewide cash price for heating oil has fallen another 5 cents from a week ago.
According to the Governor's Energy Office, the statewide average is $1.92 per gallon.
Kerosene was also down 6 cents to $2.50 per gallon and propane rose a penny to $2.21 per gallon.
Northern Maine is paying the most with the highest average price for heating oil at $2.07 a gallon. The lowest average price was $1.88 per gallon in eastern Maine. The highest heating oil price found was $2.19 per gallon in the southwestern part of the state.
Kerosene topped out at $2.64 per gallon on average in southwestern Maine while northern Maine also had the highest average propane price at a high of $2.34.
