Hathaway Holiday Lights in Veazie December 1st to 25th

As we transition from Thanksgiving to Christmas and the season of giving begins, we can also be thankful for a story like this one.

Firstly, Hathaway Holiday Lights will kick off their 12^th season of their incredible light display this Friday, December 1^st at Veazie Community School, 1040 School Street in Veazie

If you don’t know the program, it is a display with over 110,000 lights programmed to 560 channels of animation.

Breathtaking is an understatement.

The display is Daily from December 1^st to 25^th. It runs from 4:30 to 8 pm. This Friday until December 10^th. And then from December 11^th thru Christmas, the time is extended to begin at 4 pm and go until 9 pm

If you don’t know the backstory, Rick and Deanna Hathaway of Bangor had their lives change quickly when the birth of their twins, Alex and Warren, came eleven weeks premature.

The complications that led to their premature delivery were too much for Alex and sadly he passed away only four days after his birth.

Warren spent 51 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Today he is doing fine. And in recognition of the care Warren received in the NICU, and as a tribute to Alex, each December, the family hosts Hathaway Holiday Lights.

It began at their home in Bangor. Thousands of people viewed the light show featuring 30,000 lights skillfully programmed to music.

Free to view but they requested donations be made to EMMC’s NICU.

The month-long event has grow is size and shifted location to the Veazie School, but the goal is still the same. Raising as much as possible for NICU. The family is forever grateful to the remarkable work these people do on a daily basis.

Back to the light show. There are new interactive elements. A walk-through display. A 25 ft spiraling Christmas Tree. 4 10 feet leaping arches, and 2 20 feet leaping arches.
