The Hamilton Mixtape tops the Billboard 200 chart ending Dec. 8, according to a new report from the music industry website. It sold 187,000 equivalent units first week, 169,000 of which were traditional album sales.

The project includes covers of songs from the massively popular Broadway play Hamilton, as well as tracks inspired by songs from the play. Nas, The Roots, Usher, Wiz Khalifa, Chance The Rapper, Dave East and more are featured on the tape, which was released by Atlantic Records.

The Hamilton Mixtape has the highest sales week for a compilation since 2012, when Kanye West dropped G.O.O.D. Music's Cruel Summer and sold 205,000 copies first week. It's also the first compilation to top the albums chart since Now 50 did so in May 2014.

Meanwhile, Childish Gambino's third studio album Awaken, My Love! comes in at No. 5 on the chart, selling 101,000 equivalent albums first week with 79,000 of those being traditional album sales. It's his highest-charting project to date and his second top 10 release following Because the Internet in 2014, which debuted and peaked at No. 7 on the albums chart with 96,000 units sold first week.

Awaken, My Love! is a far-out departure for the Atlanta actor/writer/musician, who synthesized '70s influences like Parliament, Funkadelic and Sly & The Family Stone for the new LP. If you missed it, read our review of the album here.
