
Man Charged with Strangling 5-Year-Old Girl Arrested in Maine
The U.S. Marshals Service in Maine arrested a man on three counts of Assault and Battery on a Family or Household Member and Strangulation or Suffocation in Massachusetts.
Fugitive from Justice Wanted on Multiple Warrants
Dominique Bailey was apprehended in Lewiston. He was a fugitive from justice and wanted on multiple warrants.
Charged with Strangling 5-Year-Old Girl and Fled in Stolen Vehicle
“Bailey is alleged to have strangled a 5-year-old child in Peabody, Massachusetts, before fleeing the scene in the victim’s mother’s vehicle. The stolen vehicle was later recovered by the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department several weeks ago,” said United States Marshals.
On Probation for Robbery
He was on State Probation in Maine for robbery and was also charged with probation violation.
Law Enforcement Joint Effort
The arrest and apprehension came after Marshals received a collateral lead in the case from the United States Marshals Service in Massachusetts.
Man Staying with Known Associates in Maine
Officials believed Bailey had fled to Maine in the stolen vehicle and might be staying with known associates.
MDEA Made Forced Entry and Arrested Fugitive
“USMS Task Force members, through thorough investigative efforts, developed significant information which led investigators to a residence in Lewiston, ME. Yesterday morning, Task Force members made a forced entry into the residence and arrested Bailey,” said the Marshals Service.
Extradition and Arraignment
Bailey will be extradited to Massachusetts as a fugitive from Justice and will be arraigned on multiple charges.
