Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum Reportedly Separated for Months Before Announcement
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum just announced their breakup on Monday (April 2), but the couple apparently separated months ago.
Sources tell PEOPLE that the pair, who were wed in 2009 and share a daughter, 4-year-old Everly, together, went their separate ways months ago, with the actor moving out of their shared family home in Los Angeles.
"This has been a long time coming. Like any marriage, they’ve had their ups and downs over the years but they really started to grow apart within the last year," one source told the magazine.
Earlier this week, the couple, who met on the set of their 2006 movie Step Up, announced the news of their split to PEOPLE in a joint statement.
"We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple," the statement read. "We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible."
"We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly," the announcement continued. "We won’t be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family’s privacy."
