Summertime is right around the corner, and so are the lake and pool days.

Some people can go to a swimming hole, beach, or lake and relax...and then there are the DOERS. The people who need a game, or some kind of adrenaline activity, to be entertained.

There is an enormous adventure water park in New England that offers wakeboarding, ziplining, sliding, inflatable obstacle climbing, and cliff jumping into a fresh flowing part of the Connecticut River.

It is...EPIC.

Brownstone Adventure Sports Park, Portland, CT

Brownstone Adventure Sports Park was likely built with older kids in mind...but adults will have a grand time with the amount of thrills at this water park.

There are, of course, the standards: water trampolines, a water obstacle course, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Then there are some pretty rad water slides at Brownstone.

The slides are not like your typical water slides at Brownstone Adventure Sports Park. They are the tarped material, with fresh water flowing from the Connecticut River. And you don't end up in a small bathtub-sized tub of water that everyone else ends up in...instead, expect the slide to stop in the air, sending riders flying into the water below.

If slides are not enough, you can cliff jump into the water, rope swing, or even zipline until you are forced to plunge into the refreshing water below. They also offer a wakeboarding park, with jumps and rails

It is not all water-based thrills at Brownstone Park. The adventure park includes regular ziplining and rock climbing, too.

Portland, CT, is only two and a half hours from Portsmouth, NH, making it a must-do day trip this summer. And for only $42 for the day, this place seems like the real deal.
