This year, the City of Brewer will hold the Brewer Riverwalk Festival will take place Saturday, June 7.

Renee Doble, Deputy Director of Economic Development at the City of Brewer, says this is the 5th year they've held the event, which started in 2019, but took a brief hiatus in 2020 and 2021, due to the pandemic.

"We have always held it on the First Saturday in June...We had over 10,000 people attend last year! (of course, the weather was amazing last year.)...Of course there will be lots going on along the Riverwalk, non-profit companies will have tables with free activities for children, and there will be music and performances in the Children’s garden. The day will conclude with fireworks over the river at 9:00PM. This event will take place rain or shine."

Doble says that along with the things folks have come to expect, like local crafters and artisans, food trucks and entertainment scheduled throughout the day, all along the walk, organizers are introducing some new elements for 2025.

"New this year, is a watermelon eating contest, a performance by Penobscot Theatre Company. Also new is Queen City Improv Comedy."
