Boy’s Soccer Quarterfinal Results
It came down to the final seconds in Ashland and overtime for Fort Fairfield, Southern Aroostook in the Eastern Maine Quarterfinals Tuesday.
Cody "In the Clutch" Blair scored with 1.5 seconds left to lift the Hornets of Ashland over Washburn 3-2. Blair scored all three goals in the win. Johnny Theriault dropped a penalty kick in the back of the net during overtime to give Fort Fairfield an upset win against PVHS 1-0. Fort Kent doubled up Houlton 2-1 David Roy scored the game winner in that one for the Warriors. Presque Isle dropped a close one to MDI 3-2 Chase Norton and Griffin Guerrette scored for the Wildcats. The Bears of Easton came up just short in their upset bid against Bangor Christian losing 2-0. It took two sets of penalty kicks for Southern Aroostook to outlast Schenck 2-1. Austin White stopped all six penalty shots in the victory.
