Want a Piece of Flooring From the Original Boston Garden? Here is How You Can Own It
Owning and collecting sports cards, record-breaking home run balls, or other unique sports memorabilia is a unique hobby - and potentially a profitable one.
Oftentimes, sports memorabilia becomes valuable as time passes and a player or team does well.
Sure, the foul balls and game pucks from Red Sox and Bruins games are cool, and perhaps worth a little cash; however, one of the coolest "collectors' items" in Boston sports history is up for sale right now.
But it is pricey...like 11 million dollars pricey.
Flooring of the Old Boston Garden For Sale:
The TD Garden has gone through a lot of changes since it opened nearly 100 years ago (in 1928).
Of course, it was not called the TD Garden then, but the Boston Garden.
According to a Celtics Life article, in 1995, the Boston Garden changed its name to the Fleet Center. Just three years later, in 1998, the Fleet Center was demolished, but not before the floor was saved.
Where did it go?
Into the gym/basketball court in a gorgeous 10.9 million dollar estate in Connecticut. Now that the house (with the original Boston Garden flooring) is up for sale, you could own it.
The house is jaw-dropping with seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a golf simulator, an outdoor spa and pool, and more. It sits on five acres at 358 Lukes Wood Road in New Canaan, Connecticut.
Without a doubt, the most iconic part of the house is the barn transformed into a basketball court/indoor gym with the light-washed tiles that made up the OG Boston Garden.
