Officials have identified a man found dead at a residence in Old Town last week following the discovery of a meth lab in the same neighborhood.

Police say 50-year-old Jeffrey Miller had recently been released from jail after serving a sentence for making methamphetamine.

Miller’s body was found Thursday afternoon at a home on Brunswick Street in Old Town as drug agents were investigating a meth lab at an apartment house up the street. Four people have been arrested in connection with the Old Town meth lab, which was discovered when firefighters responded Tuesday to an explosion and fire in the apartment.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office is awaiting toxicology tests before finalizing the cause of death.

In April 2016, Miller was being sought by police after a meth lab was discovered inside an apartment on Hammond Street in Bangor, according to Public Safety Department spokesman Steve McCausland. Miller was tracked down to a home in Deer Isle and arrested.

MDEA agents found a meth lab at that residence as well.
