Social media can be a cruel place, and if you are a high-profile celebrity you have to watch what you like or say on the platform. Beyoncé and Solange’s mother Tina Lawson realizes that now. The matriarch of the Knowles family announced that she’s quitting social media after presumably throwing shade at Jennifer Hudson.

According to Singersroom, Lawson liked a comment on an Instagram video where a user dissed Hudson with the comment, “Jhud sounds horrible.”

The video in question features Beyoncé and Hudson performing a Dreamgirls medley at the 2007 Academy Awards ceremony. We must note that Hudson won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the movie. There were rumors at the time that Queen Bey was jealous of J.Hud because she didn’t get nominated for her work in the film.

When fans spotted Ms. Lawson liking the comment, they quickly attacked her for the alleged shade. The 62-year-old designer had enough and went on her Instagram page to announced that she’s leaving social media. She also denied that she liked the comment, stating that she “accidentally hit the like button." She writes:

I think if you look through my Instagram you’ll see that I am not a hater and I am not negative about people so to Jennifer for my mistake of accidentally touching it which I don’t remember doing I really apologize I totally love and Admire you [heart emoji] and I’d have to be pretty stupid to do that knowing it would be everywhere, but I will be taking a break from social media as this is the bad side of it. There are people who make thier living off of negativity.”

How do you accidentally hit the like button? In any case, you can read Ms. Lawson's entire missive above.
