An update from Woodstock

The AYR Motor Centre in Woodstock, New Brunswick announced changes to their policies for anyone looking to enter the building. Many establishments and businesses across the province are relaxing requirements to fall in line with the Canadian governments easing of regulations in response to covid-19.

Change in policies

Residents will no longer be required to show proof of a vaccination to enter the AYR Motor Centre effective immediately. The Woodstock Recreation Department released the news earlier in the week, and announced the return of services and activities at the AYR Motor Centre. Masks are required when entering the building and when passing others on the McCain Walking Track, with running beginning at 8:00 p.m. each night.

Schedule of activities and drop-ins

Among the activities returning to the public are birthday party rentals which will be capped at 25 people per rental. The Youth Zone, Field House activities, indoor pool, and skating arena are all now open to the public. The drop-in schedule for activities is as follows:

Pickleball on Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30-2:30

Badminton Tuesday 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Soccer Wednesday 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Ball Hockey Thursday 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Basketball Sunday 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

More signs of a return to normal

This is welcomed news to many residents and youth as the "normal” begins to return. The return of these activities and more provided by the recreation department and AYR Motor Centre are needed at a time when people are struggling with a two-year pandemic and loss of socialization.
