Aroostook County Man Busted for Making Meth in Sister’s Car

A Merrill man has been charged with trafficking in methamphetamine following his arrest in Houlton. The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says Houlton police arrested 33-year-old Michael Boody on Monday after an extensive search over the weekend.

On Saturday afternoon, MDEA agents had received information of a possible meth lab in a vehicle in Merrill, about 10 miles west of Houlton. The vehicle's owner, 29-year-old Sara Harvewood, reported that she had found evidence that her brother, Michael Boody, had made methamphetamine in her car.  MDEA’s Laboratory Enforcement Team confirmed the car contained a "one pot" vessel used to make the dangerous drug as well as other materials.

The vehicle was towed to Houlton where the lab team executed a search warrant, collecting evidence and disposed of hazardous materials. The MDEA said Boody had fled from Houlton police after a traffic stop earlier in the day Saturday. Police and drug agents spent some time Saturday night and Sunday looking for Boody, but did not locate him.

On Monday, Houlton Police tracked down Boody at a residence in Houlton and arrested him on two unrelated warrants, charging failure to appear. MDEA Agents were notified and charged Boody with Trafficking in Methamphetamine. He is being held at the Aroostook County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.

Boody had been under investigation by MDEA earlier this year for manufacturing methamphetamine and had been interviewed by agents at that time.

If convicted, Boody faces up to ten years in prison.
