The Aid for Kids annual Educational Fair will be held on Saturday, September 7 from 10 to 2, at the John Millar Civic Center in Houlton. The event is free.

Bess the Book Bus - Mobile literacy outreach that provides over 50,000 free books to children across the country each year. Free books for children of all ages! 

 

Challenger Learning Center in Bangor - Make a paper rocket, learn about the dynamics of flight and launch your rocket.

Chewonki Foundation Wiscasset -- Traveling Natural History Program. Stop by and see an owl, lizard and turtle and learn about animal adaptations and other unique characteristics of each animal. Learn about habitat loss and human interference.

The Texting Simulator from the Maine Department of Public Safety will be available to help reinforce the importance of not texting and driving. The simulator is a teaching tool that allows the participant to drive and try to text at the same time on a computer to see the consequences of texting and driving.

Maine Warden Service will have Safari in a box.  Hands-on learning project utilizing pelts and animal tracks.

Krystal Caron - Child Passenger Safety Technician-vehicle crashes are the number one killer in children. Studies show that three out of four car seats are installed incorrectly. Stop by and get information to make sure your seat is installed correctly. Also you may sign up for a free car seat if you meet eligibility requirements, please bring your MaineCare card or WIC folder.

American Red Cross - Will have piñatas, activity packets and Fire Safety Bingo. Sign up for free smoke alarm and fabulous door prizes.
