A Head-On Collision at a Woodland Intersection Sends Three To The Hospital
A head-on collision took place on Tuesday afternoon in Woodland at the intersection of the New Sweden Road and Thomas Road.
State Police say Jessica Doucette, 25, of Stockholm was traveling north on Route 161 around 2:45 p.m. At the same time Dana Small, 88, of Bowdoin was traveling south on Route 161, and did not yield when approaching the intersection.
Small attempted to turn onto the Thomas Road when the vehicles collided head-on and both went off the roadway, police say.
Trooper Desrosier with Troop F responded to the scene to investigate the crash.
Both drivers and a passenger in Small’s vehicle were transported by Caribou Ambulance to Cary Medical Center. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage.
Police say Doucette and Small were wearing seat belts.
