9-Year-Old Maine Boy Killed by Out-of-Control Car
ST. GEORGE, Maine (AP) — Police say an out-of-control car struck a family of four in St. George, killing a 9-year-old boy and sending two other family members to the hospital.
The Knox County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that a woman was driving by Monhegan Boat Landing in the town's Port Clyde village at about 3 p.m. Sunday when she lost control.
Police say the car with New York plates hit another vehicle, knocked a pedestrian into a building, and hit six more vehicles before striking a family of four walking on the wharf.
Police say the boy was killed two other family members were flown to a Portland hospital.
No names were immediately released and police did not say what led the driver to lose control.
The investigation is ongoing.
