18-year-old Man Charged With Murder of Girl in Jacksonville, N.B.

Police say an 18-year-old man from Jacksonville, N.B. has been charged with first degree murder in the death of a 17-year-old girl, also from Jacksonville..

Amon Kelleter was charged in Woodstock Provincial Court on Wednesday.

RCMP say Kelleter was arrested on Tuesday at a home in Jacksonville. Police had responded to the home at approximately 4:20 p.m. after receiving a 9-1-1 call about an unresponsive person at the residence.

Kelleter has been remanded in custody until his next scheduled court appearance on October 15, 2018, at 9:30 a.m.

The name of the victim cannot be released due to a court ordered publication ban.

The New Brunswick RCMP Major Crime Unit is investigating.
