Struggles with anxiety have compelled Zayn Malik to cancel yet another show, but he insists he's working to cope with his condition.

In an open letter to fans via 117LiveMalik apologized for canceling a forthcoming October 7 gig at Dubai's Autism Rocks Arena, and noted that he is still not in the proper condition to perform.

"I have been working over the last three months to overcome my extreme anxiety around major live solo performances I feel I am making progress but I have today acknowledged that I do not feel sufficiently confident to move forward with the planned show in Dubai in October," he wrote, insisting that tickets would be refunded. "I am truly sorry to disappoint you. I hope to see you all soon."

While fans were disappointed, many —particularly those who could empathize — offered support and understanding.

Malik's opened up about his anxiety more transparently this year, especially after canceling a scheduled performance at the 2016 CapitalFM Summertime Ball in June. He'd pulled out of a handful of appearances in the preceding months, too.

"Unfortunately, my anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me," he wrote alongside an Instagram photo. "With the magnitude of the event, I have suffered the worst anxiety of my career. I cannot apologize enough, but I want to be honest with everyone who has patiently waited to see me. I promise I will do my best to make this up to everybody I’ve let down today."
