After receiving a number of calls from motorists about 9:30 pm of a wrong way driver with the vehicle’s lights off driving in the wrong lane, Troopers were able to stop the truck in Saco after it collided with the rear of  a cruiser.

The big rig was stopped after troopers had to take evasion action to avoid a head on collision with the truck.   Charged with driving to endanger is Michael Crews, 49, from Hurt, VA. He was taken to SMMC for evaluation. The trailer portion of the truck is registered to Blue Diamond Transportation from Presque Isle and was empty.

Troopers think Crews got on the wrong lane from the Kennebunk service plaza, driving north in the southbound lane.  There was minor damage to the cruiser and no injuries to the responding troopers.
