On Thursday afternoon Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a car / moose crash on Route 11 in T9-R5 WELS, which is just south of Masardis. 60-year-old Michelle Warhola, of Bangor, was travelling south in her 2007 Honda CRV when she struck a moose in the roadway. Luckily, she was not injured.

The vehicle, however, was severely damaged and the moose did not survive. Moose are pretty active right now and people need to be on the lookout. Maine Forest Rangers, Ashland Police and Ashland Ambulance assisted Deputy Sheriff Rob Thibeault at the scene.
