The Southeast District RCMP is investigating a head-on collision Sunday in Aldouane, N.B. that claimed the life of a 49-year-old woman and injured two other people.

Police and emergency personnel responded shortly before 3:30 p.m., to a collision involving two cars on Route 134. According to Constable Maxime Aubé, a car travelling north on Route 134 crossed the centre line and collided with a southbound car.

A passenger in the southbound vehicle, a 49-year-old woman from Saint John, N.B., was transported by ambulance to hospital where she died as result of her injuries.

The drivers of both cars were taken to hospital with what police called “non-life threatening injuries.”

The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
