Forecasters say snow accumulation of 8 or more inches is possible with strong winds and potential for blowing and drifting snow.

The winter storm warning covers all of Aroostook County, as well as northern areas of Penobscot, Somerset and Piscataquis counties.

Rain is expected to change to snow during the day Thursday with wind gusts up to 25 mph by Thursday evening.

Forecasters were calling for anywhere from 5-11 inches of accumulation from the storm, with the heavier concentrations expected in central and southern Aroostook County.
